How to run an AI review on a document

DociCA can review a document you already have and return a report of findings. The steps below are the whole flow.

1. Upload the document

DociCA accepts PDF, Word (.docx), and plain text, up to 20 MB. Before the upload proceeds you are asked to confirm the AI upload and retention notice — the review cannot start until you do.

2. Choose the province

This is required. DociCA’s review is province-specific, because the law it checks against is. A document reviewed under the wrong province is reviewed against the wrong statutes.

3. Choose the document type

Also required — employment and HR, lease and tenancy, NDA and confidentiality, services and contractor, business and corporate, or family and personal. The type selects which body of law the review reasons about.

4. Say what your role is (optional)

You can state whether you are a party to the document, acting for a party with authority, or reviewing it for someone else. This is optional and shapes how findings are framed.

5. Read the report

The review returns a Document Review Report with a review priority and a list of findings. The part worth understanding is the grounding tier on each finding: it records whether the finding quotes government text that was confirmed literally, cites a verified provision, or was produced by the model with nothing verified behind it. Read the verified-text findings first — and treat model-generated ones as prompts to check, not as conclusions.

6. Act on the findings

A finding can carry a suggested fix you can apply. If a finding is wrong or unhelpful you can say so — not relevant, incorrect, too generic, already addressed elsewhere, wrong jurisdiction, or unclear wording. You can export the notes you adopted, or the full report.
